Howdy! I'm Kara.

I'm just a girl who fell in love with her camera. But first and foremost, I am a wife to a medical student named Jared, a mother to a wild one-year-old boy named Alo (ALL-oh), and a human tumbleweed. Being both an Air Force & Med School wife, I've had the chance to see the beauty in many different types of landscapes and peoples. I love being able to experience the quirks and charms of each and every area I stay in—from the strong mountains of the West, to the woodland forests of the East.

So Far, I've lived in:

  • Texas
  • Utah
  • North Carolina
  • Pennsylvania &
  • New York
  • ((Next on the list is either Florida, Nevada, or California. I'll keep you posted!))

It's during all this transition that I had to find and outlet for myself and document my time in these places. After dipping my finger in many different photography-genre-pies, I finally found that I loved candid, unscripted moments most. It's my adoration and excitement for these photos that makes me feel confident that I can give my clients something that they will cherish for years to come.

Some other fun facts about me:

  • I'm a granola girl at heart—I'm obsessed with hiking, kayaking, childbirth, natural cleaning, etc.
  • I love keeping up with health food trends. Heaven bless my family, because whenever I come to visit, I'm always doing something different with my food. It's a personal hobby. Come winter, my kitchen is going to look like some kind of weird laboratory with all of the sprouting, yogurt-making, and kombucha-brewing I plan on doing.
  • My B I G dream is to someday live on a small farm complete with chickens, ducks, goats, bees, a dog, a cat, and some wild & wonderful children.
  • I have never successfully cultivated a basil plant.
  • I am an avid second-hand shopper— I love scouring the racks for an interesting print or a quality wooden toy for baby Alo.
  • I love arts, but not crafts. am probably the world's worst [and most impatient] crafter. Scrapbooking? Nah. Sewing? Nope. Pinterest DIYs? Heeeeeeck no. I think this is why photography and I jive so well.

I can't wait to get to know a little bit about you and your family! So stay awhile, look around, and feel free to drop me a line under the 'Contact' tab! Cheers!
